The new $23M Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes is an innovative outpatient clinic and advanced research facility. Located at the very heart of the Fitzsimons campus, the four-story, 113,700 square foot building features two levels of clinical care and two levels of research, including a vivarium.

Designed with an emphasis on children, young adults and families, the Center incorporates daylight throughout its work and patient spaces, along with the use of natural materials and earth tones to provide a more comforting and enjoyable visitor/patient experience.  The public facade of the Center consists of the warmth of the patient gallery, the relationship of the new Center to the historic army hospital, and the iconic playfulness of a children’s playroom.
